Where to travel for Vacation (California, Vegas, or Minnesota?)?
Monica asked:
We want to take a vacation in March (I know, we’re planning ahead because we need to get time off requests in at work) and we can’t figure out where to go. Money IS of concern. Here are our options -
We live in Phoenix. We can save money on airfare by taking a road trip to Las Vegas and/or San Diego, but we’re not sure what to do there? We’re not gamblers, and I know there are lots of shows in Las Vegas, but I would imagine they’re all expensive? Also, is there anything to do in San Diego besides sit on the beach?
Another option is to drive straight up to the Sacramento area and stay with family to save money on hotel costs. Then we could travel to San Francisco and spend more on hotels and other activities, but again, what is there to do?
Lastly, we can go to Minnesota where we also have family. We’ll have to spend money on airfare obviously, but will be able to stay with family for free. But again, what to do in Minnesota in March?
Anyone who’s ever traveled these areas have any advice?

VEGAS BABY
iv e been to vegas all kindsa good fun stuff to do there even if you have kids!! i used to go there every weekend LOTSA fun!!
cali has the beach which is really nice and disneyland and 6 flags all very fun
never been to minn but my mother inlaw just got back from there her pics were beautiful from there but dont know what there is to actually do
minnesota is cheapest
if you travel to san diego you can visit legoland, they have a wild animal park, and are spitting distance from tijuana, mexico
if you travel to sacremento not only can you go to san francisco you can also go east into the sierra nevadas and visit yosemite - both tuoleme meadows and the valley are well worth your time to visit
I live in Los Angeles and in my opiion, San Diego is my favorite place in the United States along with New York, but San Diegos still better.
Besides sitting on the beach, San Diego has all sorts of cool amusement parks/things to do. You could take a trip to seaworld or legoland, or to the birch aquarium in La jolla. The weather is usually gorgios there in march, and the beach would be great to, the tidepools are cool. They have some good casinos in San Diego, (almost to vegas standards. The San diego zoo is the best zoo ive ever been to. Balboa park in San Diego is americas largest urban cultural park. Hope this helps, have fun on your trip!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Las Vegas is not relaxing at all. Its the town that never sleeps. It’s a crazy place…constant noise and lights.
San Diego. Lots to do there. Museums, parks, the zoo (worth the trip just for that). The weather there is in the 60’s. March is one of the rainy months.
San Francisco has lots to do too. You can walk to many places along the waterfront and downtown. Tour of Alcatraz.
I’ve not been to the other places. An internet search will give you much more detailed info. All places that you mentioned encourage tourism and will tell you want you need to know.
Even in March, the Midwest (Minnesota) has a number of things you can do and/or see.
Mall of America, Walker Art Museum, Minnesota Zoo, Como Park Zoo, Children’s Museum, Science Museum, skiing at any number of hills, MN Timberwolves will be playing along with the MN Wild hockey team, The U of M has a number of teams playing, there will probably be concerts of various kinds along with theatrical performances. There will be plenty of possibilities in MN.
Try for ideas
Have you visited the sights and indian ruins meteor crators in Arizona? March is a great time to do it.
San diego is not a beach city in March. Visit Zoo, wild animal Park, legoland, Sea world, Gold mines in Julian, Cabrillo Nat’l monument, from Seaport village take the water taxi to Coronado, rent a surry and peddle the island and beach. Eat and sleep and night life in the Gaslamp area, Take a tour (trolley or Double decker bus)
Buy the San Diego Pass - a cheaper way to see everything for one price.
ca credit repair…
Wow This place is fabulous. I have to bookmark it and come back here again!…
